Wine, Cheese, and Tax Reform Discussion ***

        • 4:00 – 6:00 pm
        • Alumni Center, 86 Wentworth Street
Tax Reform- What’s the Big Deal and Why Should I Care? Join Brett Bluestein ’97 for wine, charcuterie and robust discussion on the prospects of tax reform in 2017. While the enactment of tax reform legislation is by no means certain, the odds for reform appear to be more favorable than they have been at any other time since the Tax Reform Act of 1986. Attendees will learn about the current reform option under discussion and how it may impact their daily lives.

Brett A. Bluestein is a senior vice president and senior wealth strategist at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. In this role, Brett advises in the areas of financial planning, estate planning, insurance, risk management, and philanthropy to help high net worth individuals and families reach their initial goals and objectives. Prior to joining Bank of America, Brett worked as a tax and estate planning attorney in Charleston, SC with McNair Law Firm, P.A. where he specialized in estate, gift, and charitable tax planning; probate administration; estate planning and trusts; succession planning for closely-held businesses; and corporate law.

Brett earned his B.A. degree in Corporate Communications and Business Administration from the College of Charleston, his Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law and a LL.M. in taxation from New York University. Brett has served on the College of Charleston Alumni Association Board and Cougar Club Board.
